WOODLANDS CARE HOME - HAMPSHIRE

While the charming suburb of Lovedean is far from the New Forest, the trees and hedges surrounding Woodlands Care Home provide us with the same level of undisturbed tranquillity. This location is also closely connected to nearby Waterlooville and the centre of Lovedean itself.

Who we care for

Woodlands is a residential care home, meaning that we provide short or long term care to those in need of that little bit of extra help to live with independence, dignity and comfort. Care needs are individual, and we will try our hardest to accommodate any needs or wants you have while staying with us. Although we welcome interest from anyone, no matter what your needs, we are best at providing care for clients over 65, with:

  • Physical or mental disabilities
  • Dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
  • Day-to-day and personal care needs
  • A desire for support and companionship
Accommodation and facilities

When Woodlands joined Brookvale Healthcare in 2003, the complete refurbishment of the facilities focused its design on enabling ease of movement with large communal spaces and broad, high corridors.

Private bedrooms

Our fully furnished rooms, available as both singles and doubles, are similarly airy, providing a comfortable yet private space.

Communal Areas

The communal areas include:

  • The dining room – served by our kitchen staff, who cook and serve food throughout the day.
  • Two lounges – filled with comfortable furniture, televisions and views out onto the garden.

The Garden

Sensory garden – newly landscaped and is laid to lawn with a number of small areas of shrubs and flowers. A comfortable patio area with garden furniture for residents to enjoy the summer afternoons with a cup of tea in the sunshine.

Woodlands is an active home, with a revolving list of activities and events throughout the year. On an average week, our residents play bingo, participate in arts and crafts, or just relax by watching a movie. We have regular outside performances by local theatre groups and entertainers.  and have animal therapy at least twice a month. We always welcome and encourage our visitors to partake too.

We also have an intergenerational project running weekly. This allows a group of local nursery children to visit weekly and take part in activities with the residents. They often stay for lunch with the resident and we also visit the children in their own setting with our residents.

Care and Support

We firmly believe that no programme of care can succeed without placing you, and your preferences, at its heart. Our care-planning, although supervised by our managers, is a collaborative process; we understand that you are best placed to know what you need.

Our care workers are skilled professionals, always there when you need a helping hand, cup of tea or just a chat. More broadly, we support clients who need:

  • Short-term convalescent and respite care
  • Long-term residential support

Residential Care

Residential Care Homes provide accommodation, meals, laundry services, and personal care to residents (assistance with washing, bathing, toileting, etc). This is ideal for those who are not able to cope at home or would appreciate the social network and support that our care facilities provide. The minimum age for admission is 65; however, some homes may admit residents younger than that. Check with the individual home to see if it is registered to do so.

Respite Care

Respite Care refers to short term care, quite often for 1 – 4 weeks. This type of care often allows primary care givers to have a break or assures that care is given whilst there is no care giver available. Some of our homes have dedicated respite rooms whilst others will offer it if a room is vacant. This service is offered in both our Nursing Homes and our Residential Homes.
