Accommodation and facilities

From its comfortable furnishings to its wide, bright windows, Beechwood House is here to support you in safety and comfort. The design of Beechwood House revolves around promoting ease of movement and breadth of experience.

Beechwood House Bedroom

Private bedrooms

Alongside the fully furnished bedrooms, many with en-suite, much of the space in Beechwood House is reserved for comfort and enjoyment. We want you to feel at home with us and welcome you to customise your room however you like.

Communal Areas

The lounge – our large sitting room, overlooking the gardens, is a place for enjoyment and companionship. Very much a hub of activity, the lounge is a bright and active space in which our activities managers operate daily. Two relaxation spaces – these smaller and quieter rooms are always open whether you want to while away an afternoon in front of the TV or sit and chat. On the first floor is a library space, while on the ground floor there is a quiet lounge.

The Garden

The gardens – an often-complimented source of pride, our large gardens allow for the free enjoyment of nature close to home.

Beechwood House functions on the principle that your care needs are paramount, and that keeping you cared for is a holistic endeavour. To this end, alongside more traditional care, we make it our mission to make you happy. Our activities team works constantly on a broad schedule that includes games, trips, parties and arts to keep you entertained. Equally, we support attendance at the local church and sessions of ‘Namaste’ for your spiritual and psychological needs. For visitors we operate an open-door policy, and our car park is regularly full of families and friends coming to spend the day in the home, or else going out to explore the parks and cafes of Rowland’s Castle. Whatever you need, we are here for you.

Care and Support

Since 2014, Beechwood House has been operating as a nursing and residential home, which allows us to adapt to a large range of clinical, as well as care, needs. At Beechwood our aim is that our residents and their families are given a superb standard of nursing care in a happy and homely environment, and we strive to make our residents lives more fulfilled, healthy and happy. We are very lucky to have a long-standing team that have been with us for many years and have a breadth of experience. Beechwood House has a very warm friendly atmosphere, where staff, residents and relatives are one big family. We can provide care for:

  • Long-term residential support
  • Long-term nursing support
  • Short-term convalescent and respite care (subject to bed availability)
  • Palliative Care

Nursing Care

Nursing Homes provide all the facilities of a Residential Care Home with one main difference. Nursing Homes have Registered Nurses in 24 hour attendance to offer more specialist nursing intervention to those residents requiring it. This involves clinical care that can allow people with complex conditions and care needs to be safely supported

Residential Care

Residential Care Homes provide accommodation, meals, laundry services, and personal care to residents (assistance with washing, bathing, toileting, etc). This is ideal for those who are not able to cope at home or would appreciate the social network and support that our care facilities provide. The minimum age for admission is 65; however, some homes may admit residents younger than that. Check with the individual home to see if it is registered to do so.

Respite Care

Respite Care refers to short term care, quite often for 1 – 4 weeks. This type of care often allows primary care givers to have a break or assures that care is given whilst there is no care giver available. Some of our homes have dedicated respite rooms whilst others will offer it if a room is vacant. This service is offered in both our Nursing Homes and our Residential Homes.

Palliative and Terminal Care

This type of care refers to people who are terminally and/or severely ill. This type of compassionate care focuses on ensuring the individual is comfortable and free from pain. This approach extends to dealing with friends and family in times of bereavement and grief. These services are offered in our Nursing Homes and many of the staff in our Residential Homes have been trained in this field as well.
