Cross Way House

Size and Category of Care

Cross Way House can care for a maximum of 24 people.  The home has the expertise and specialises in the care of older people with learning difficulties and older people with dementia.

Cross Way House is in a quiet residential area of Havant with a short walk to all local amenities and travel links.  Cross Way House is a well-known historic building once serving the local community as a War Memorial hospital.

Specialist Care Provided

Our care is person centred from offering meal choices to medications management.  Cross Way House has a daily routine to ensure safe and efficient running of the home, however our individualised care plans will be used to plan and provide excellent care for each resident.

Facilities at the Home

Cross Way House has been extensively renovated and refurbished to offer single room accommodation all with en suite toilets and some with wet rooms.  Every room including personal care areas has a nurse call system and every resident has an alarm to ensure their safety.  (We have provided a flat screen television in every room.)

Distinguishing Characteristics of the Home

Our outside garden and patio areas are fully landscaped and we have a separate residents gardening area.  The grounds encompass the rear and sides of Cross Way House with secure fencing to ensure the safety of the residents and staff at all times.  We have a small amount of visitor parking and we encourage considerate on-road parking by all staff and visitors to the home.

We work closely with District Nurses and Community Nurses, the local GP's and all other members of the multi disciplinary team to ensure all your health needs are met.  We have a hairdresser on site and we can arrange podiatry visits.  Cross Way House has an activities programme and we actively encourage residents to join in and also tailor activities to individual needs.

My mum has been a resident at Cross Way House since September 2013. All the staff are very caring, friendly and seem to genuinely enjoy working at Cross Way House. Staff can often be heard laughing and joking with the Residents, all of whom are treated with respect and cared for as individuals. Great efforts are made to involve the residents in activities as far as is possible including decorating the home for Christmas, Halloween etc. Mandy Clarke (Manager) is a good manager and a very caring person who has a great 'way' with the residents. She will 'go the extra mile' for her Residents an example being the work she is currently doing in preparing a 'Sensory Room'. She also ensures that family members are fully involved in decisions relating to the the care of Residents. Overall, Cross Way House is a very happy and caring community.
