CROSS WAY HOUSE - HAVANT

Cross Way House is a Home in historic Havant, the building itself having previously served as Havant War Memorial Hospital.  We carry forward this proud tradition by providing care to elderly residents with Dementia and Learning Disabilities. Despite the vintage exterior of Cross Way House, the interior facilities have recently been refurbished with utility and comfort in mind whilst retaining the charm of the earlier structure.

Our staff are well-versed in the complex interactions of healthcare needs and, more importantly, are committed to consistently providing you with first class care regardless of these.  It is this person-centred approach that governs and directs all aspects of Cross Way House’s care procedures and management.

Who we care for

Cross Way House is a 24 bed-room Care Home providing a high level of security and support, enabling you to maintain your independence while getting the care you need.  We are trained to accommodate all levels and varieties of care need and will work with you to establish exactly what support you require.  We will provide assistance to residents over the age of 65 who may need help with :

Private bedrooms

Our recently refurbished rooms pair comfort with function.  Each room is fully furnished – including a television and an en-suite facility.  This area is your space with us, and we welcome you to decorate, furnish and change it in whatever ways make you feel most comfortable.

Communal Areas

The Home also has a number of shared areas for relaxation, socialising and enjoyment.  Meals are prepared by our on-site catering team who offer cooked food across the day as well as snacks and drinks between meal times.

Activities are organised by our full-time Activities Co-Ordinator. On a daily basis we run any number of events, from games and parties to exercise and one-off celebrations. We are like a family here and we welcome and include any of your visitors by having an open door policy for any friends or family.

Care and Support

Cross Way House is home to a diverse group of people, from many backgrounds and with many different preferences and interests. To us, your individual preferences are the keystone upon which the Home is built, and they are at the heart of our caring ethos. From the most complex requirements to the most prosaic of requests, we want to know how we can help you.  We are able to accommodate clients at most levels of care need, and work to provide:

  • Short-term respite care
  • Long-term residential support and care

Residential Care

Residential Care Homes provide accommodation, meals, laundry services, and personal care to residents (assistance with washing, bathing, toileting, etc). This is ideal for those who are not able to cope at home or would appreciate the social network and support that our care facilities provide. The minimum age for admission is 65; however, some homes may admit residents younger than that. Check with the individual home to see if it is registered to do so.

Respite Care

Respite Care refers to short term care, quite often for 1 – 4 weeks. This type of care often allows primary care givers to have a break or assures that care is given whilst there is no care giver available. Some of our homes have dedicated respite rooms whilst others will offer it if a room is vacant. This service is offered in both our Nursing Homes and our Residential Homes.
