With the current Covid-19 lockdown situation continuing still, all our residents have been missing out not only on visits from their families but also from our much enjoyed regular visits from a variety of outside entertainers who bring back the good old days with renditions of classic songs from yesteryear. Our residents really enjoy these sing-along sessions.
Our activities team have been working hard to organise individual and group activities for our residents to keep them socially engaged and mentally active with an initiative called “Lockdown Activities” as shown above.
WIMBLEDON CREAM TEA
With Wimbledon having been cancelled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we ensured the residents at Brookvale House did not miss out on the traditional strawberries and cream. They all enjoyed a special cream tea whilst watching and enjoying classic matches on the television from the famous Grass Court competition from years gone by. It certainly brought back memories for many of them.
HYDRATION DAY – 23RD JUNE 2020
During the recent heat wave our Hydration Champions and our Activities Co-Ordinator organised an innovative and fun afternoon for the residents of Brookvale House where they enjoyed a variety of treats designed to keep them fully hydrated.
The residents enjoyed a tasty and colourful fruit salad consisting fruits such as fresh Watermelon, Pineapples, Oranges and a mixture of Berries. Residents were also offered a variety of ice creams or ice lollies to enjoy with the fruit salad.
TASTY THURSDAYS
Thursdays at Brookvale House are now known as Tasty Thursday, and on 16th July 2020 the residents thoroughly enjoyed a baking session where they made pizzas of their own choice and garlic bread which they then enjoyed later in the day for their Tea.
